Frequently asked questions

Are stainless steel lunch boxes non-toxic?

BPA-free and toxin-free where it is tested: your food touches nothing but uncoated 18/8 steel. No liner, no coating, no plastic parts. Independently tested for lead under the US CPSIA, and we retest every year. The current report is on our certificates page.

Is the lunch box really leak-proof?

Yes, for everyday food. The silicone seal holds sauces, dressings and yogurt, and the box travels sideways in a bag. Thick stews travel fine. Clear soup travels upright.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes: box, lid and seal. Take the seal out once a week and wash it separately, so it dries fully and keeps its shape.

What size is the lunch box?

Three sizes: 27 oz, 40 oz and 47 oz. The 27 oz is a school lunch. The 40 oz is a full adult meal. The 47 oz is meal prep with sides. The size is stamped on the base.

Can I use it in the oven or freezer?

Yes. The stainless steel container is oven- and freezer-safe; take the lid and seal out before it goes in the oven. Never put stainless steel in the microwave.

Does it come with dividers?

Yes, two removable stainless steel dividers, so you can build up to three compartments and keep flavors apart.

What material is the lunch box made of?

Food-grade 18/8 (304) stainless steel, uncoated inside, BPA-free and plastic-free. Your food touches nothing but steel. Built to last for years.

Is it suitable for kids?

Yes. The edges are rounded, the steel is uncoated inside, and the box has no plastic parts. Easy to latch for small hands. The 27 oz is the school size. With a name engraved on the lid, twenty bags on the same hook stop looking alike.

Where is the lunch box made?

Developed and designed in Hamburg, Germany. The engraving happens in our own facility in California. Manufacturing happens in China, to our own designs and specifications. Trusted by thousands across the U.S.
